Eryn's Lunchbox

Eryn was asked to write about her perfect lunch. This is a scan of her lunchbox.

In case you can't read the picture, it says, "My idea of a perfect lunch is Shirimp, Fish, Crab, sushi and cramboola. Cramboola is good because it has cream and cooked sugar and it is crunchy! I like shirimp with the shirmp sauce!

Cramboola is Creme Brulee

I thought what 1st grader would ever think that the perfect lunch is sea food and creme brulee. I love her imagination!

Our Month in Review

March came and went with all that was going on and my overall laziness the blog went on the back burner.

Payton and Eryn both played in the music festival this month and both received SUPERIORS for their two memorized pieces. They worked really hard and so did their mother, I'm thinking earplugs might be a worthwhile investment.
Payton and Eryn played in Young at Art. It is a talent show at the school. It is actually a pretty big production it is held at Century High and over 80 students participate. They both played the piano.

We all went to the DNCFR Rodeo one of our favorite family traditions. We start the week out at the library where we meet Rodeo Queens they read and sign autographs, we go to the rodeo breakfast and then we go to the rodeo. This is one of Eryn's yearly highlights, having a healthy dose of Wallentine blood in her.
Payton has been playing Jr. Jazz and loves it. He is the most non-competitive player I know. He doesn't care if he shoots a basket or not, he will almost always pass the ball to someone else unless we are yelling at him to shoot. The last game of the season they let Eryn play and Payton was always quick to give the ball to his sis. so she could have a chance to shoot. He, at times, is a very considerate brother.

Easter was great this year! Every year my cousin Natalie invites us all up for and Easter egg hunt at her house. They stuff lots of eggs with tons of candy.

Macy, Payton, Tanner and Lexi

On Easter Sunday I made Easter brunch crepes with homemade pudding, strawberries, bananas and homemade, ghiradelli hot fudge sauce. We then dyed Easter eggs and went to church. (we have the dreaded 1-4 time). After we went to Michael's mom's and had Easter dinner.

The Easter Outfits. I am a mean mom, we do not do Easter Baskets. They get an Outfit and a book. Payton has been reading Spiderwick Chronicles and Eryn got a fairy book.

We had spring break last week and we had a great vacation we cleaned. The kids went roller skating, we painted ceramics and went and saw Nana.

This is a summary of our month. Not to mention activity days, piano and tennis lessons, school and other various activities.

Sam We Am!

Say! I like green eggs and ham!
I do! I like them, Sam-I-am!
And I would eat them in a boat.
And I would eat them with a goat...
I do so like
green eggs and ham!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Sam-I-am!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

A Night at the Symphony

Every year Michael's mom gets tickets to the symphony and then she invites one couple to go with her. Wednesday night was Michael's turn and since I couldn't go he took Eryn and they went out on a special date.
Michael bought her a coursage and took her out to dinner and then off to the symphony. Michael is such a romantic. Eryn is spoiled, so all those young men out there who will be lining up to date her, they will have big shoes to fill. Because she is Daddy's Princess!

Princess Tea Party

Princess Eryn

Every year my mom takes Eryn, Tabby and Tenleigh to the Princess Tea Party. Eyrn loves this tradition because she gets to dress up fancy, douses herself in glitter and jewels and off she goes. Her mom makes her spends hours sitting so she can have shirley temple ringlets. They are beautiful, aren't they?

Eyrn's 1st Perm

I was so sick of stragely hair, I gave Eryn an ultimatum: Cut your hair or perm? She choose a perm. So off to Kristi's we went.

PS I forgot to take an after shot. Look at other upcoming pictures. It turned out cute.

Eryn's Library

Welcome to Eryn's Library...

Several months ago she decided that she wanted to play "library". She takes out books and covers every available surface in our living room with them. She then gives us library cards with numbers on them and we are able to check out books.

So, this weedend, she pulled out the books and started her library. I love it when she plays library. She even has story time and she will get all her stuffed animals and read to them. She is getting quite good at reading, she even does voices. How cute is that, I love it.

Eryn and mom's Field Trip

Eryn and her science notebook.

Eryn and I have been studying the solar system at home after school, yes she just can't get enough learning at school, she has a science notebook and we get pictures off the Internet, books from the library and we have been learning about each planet. Anyway, last Friday Eryn and I took a field trip to the planetarium in Salt Lake at the Gateway. It was a lot of fun.

She was able to walk on Mars and the Moon.

The planetarium had a weather station

We had a couple of hours before we went to the movie, The Ultimate Universe, so right across the street we went the Gateway Discovery Center, which is a hands-on Children's Museum. They had an exhibit about the movie Robots.

Eryn rode the subway system in the Robots movie, she made a robot out of colored pasta, played on the farm, delivered mail, and built a robot out of gadgets. She had a blast.
